Our February Issue of Wonderful Read of the Month has been out, and it’s time for me to spotlight the authors featured in the magazine.
Emerald Barnes graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Mississippi University for Women in English with an emphasis on Creative Writing. She resides in a small town in Mississippi, where she writes novels and short stories as well as blogs about writing when she isn’t spending time with her nieces and nephew. She has self-published her novella, Piercing Through the Darkness, and has been published by Phyllis Scott Publishing in their book Blue Legs and Other Coming of Age Stories. She works diligently to finish more works for publication. Her next book, Read Me Dead, should be out soon.

I take the liberty to highlight the magazine’s creator Eri Nelson, who I have interviewed on my site a few months ago, Meeting Enchanting Elusive Eri Nelson. I have read and reviewed two of her wonderful books, and I am publishing the first of my 5-star reviews on Amazon and GoodReads below.
My Review of The Call From Within
I’ll begin my review by sharing a little secret of mine – prior to Eri’s book, I have never read a single book of werewolves, provided that you don’t count Jack London’s White Fang, which was about a wolf dog, so I guess there is a slight difference
Here is the point: I have throughly enjoyed Eri’s book. It is a fast-paced adventure which took me into a totally unfamiliar yet fascinating world, literally, and I was hooked on the very first page and did not put it down till the last. Needless to say, I finished reading in one sitting.
Owen Dearhart is the alpha of his clan. Female werewolves are hard to find but Owen has luck on his side – he finds his soul mate Kristin Still. Together they have a battle in their hands, with rivals of the Dearharts clan.
The characters came very much alive with the author’s wonderful depictions, and it was pacy, passionate, exciting, erotic and engaging. It is a fast and compelling read. So if you are into a good story with action-packed sequences, fine characters and excellent writing, buckle up and enjoy the ride, as I surely did.

Thank you so much Junying!! You continue to awe me on your support of myself and so many authors!! You have my never ending gratitude.
Best Wishes
Eri
Eri,
It’s an absolute delight to have met you, and get to know your talents as an author, a networker, an artistic soul, a supportive friend and a wonderful human being
Nice review, and always nice to see Emerald’s face.
Many thanks, Denise. Good to see you here
Junying, thank you so much for this! I appreciate you sharing it!
Also, thanks, Denise! And I look forward to reading Eri’s books!
Emerald,
It’s wonderful to feature both you and Eri. I hope you don’t mind that I used the Amazon picture of your book cover, as it was bigger than the original one you sent me and I want people to get a good look at it
That’s fine! I must’ve accidentally sent you the smaller one. I have two, and I probably just got confused. I’m glad you used this one.
I really do appreciate all the work you put into featuring the authors in the Supporting Authors One Read at a Time!
It’s my pleasure to be able to support fellow authors and lovely to get to know you a little more
Junying, you’ve picked two great writers to show your support for! I too am a fan of Eri Nelson. Her talent and support for others shows up everywhere. She also has the prettiest smile on Twitter.
Emerald Barnes is another writer I look up to for her talent. She’s one to watch.
Yes, Dannie, both you and I are big fans of Eri’s pretty smile and her tireless support for others, not to mention her exciting adventure books of werewolves
New year, new writers, and it’s great to meet fellow writers via the author network.
Thank you, Dannie! That means a lot.
Junying, you are wonderful to consistently share new authors. I am not familiar with Emerald (yet), and I absolutely adore Eri!
Thanks, Amberr. It’s a privilege to meet new and exciting new authors, and to promote them when I can. That’s one of the perks of having a blog
I came across at least a couple of new authors from reading your posts too
